US vs UK Book Cover Battle!

Hey everyone ~ I saw this trend floating around the YouTubes recently and thought I would do my own version on here! I am for sure one who is a sucker for a good cover, so I thought this would be a fun idea to see which cover, either the US or the UK, I love the most ~ Let’s gooooo

Round 1: Raybearer by Jordan Ifueko

WINNER: US! (but both are super pretty)

I really love both of these covers and feel like I am constantly switching between the two as to which one is my favorite. There is just something so gorgeous about the US design that I just could not pick the UK cover in the end. I remember when I unboxed my US copy a couple of months ago and it was by far the prettiest cover I have seen in a while. I just love all the colors ~~

Round 2: Radio Silence by Alice Oseman

WINNER: UK!

I absolutely adore that Alice Oseman is coming out with these new covers that are hand drawn for all of her books. I think they look so cute individually and together. The US cover is pretty bad not going to lie. It is just not very eye grabbing for me and does not seem like something I would enjoy. I probably would not have picked it up if not for the new UK covers, so this was an easy choice for me

Round 3: And I Darken by Kiersten White

WINNER: US!

Whew this is a bit of a throwback for me because I read this book way back when it came out a few years ago and really loved it. I really need to re-read the first book to continue on with the rest of the trilogy haha. BUT ANYWAY ~ I think the UK cover captures the story a little bit more, but I just really love the purple colors on the US edition. I also am not the biggest fan of people on the covers, so that was another drawback for the UK one.

Round 4: Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor

WINNER: UK!

As yes this wonderful book. I actually have many editions of this book but my favorite is by far the UK edition. The neon blue color truly takes your breath away and I just really adore it so so much. The US cover is not one of my favs because I do not really like the color scheme.

Round 5: The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by VE Schwab

WINNER: BOTH??

This one was really hard for me because both covers have good and bad things about them. They both are pretty simplistic, which I normally do not gravitate towards very often. However, I just finished the book and think the US edition makes more sense for the story in general and those 7 stars on the cover (if you know you know). But I also really love the flowers and the blue color on the UK edition. I am so torn! If I had to pick one, I guess I would go with the US one because it makes more sense with the aesthetics of the story itself (:

I’ll probably do another one of these soon ((:

THANKS FOR READING !!!!! ❤ JILL
